October Students of the Month

On Friday, Oct. 26, Faribault High School honored nine senior students with its first Student of the Month Breakfast.

Each honoree received a Student of the Month certificate, as well as a gift bag with certificates from local sponsors Weichert Realtors-Heartland, McDonald’s, Jimmy John’s, Dairy Queen and Family Video.

The nine FHS Students of the Month for October are Mikayla Burkhartzmeyer (English), Emma Paquette (Fine Arts), Mara Schmitz (Science), Lauren O’Neil (Falcon Spirit), Hamdiyo Ali (World Languages), Mikayla Wetzel (Math), McKenzie Maas (Industrial Arts), Alex Kirkpatrick (Physical Education) and Quintin Gutzmann (Social Studies).

 

Mikayla Burkhartzmeyer

“She not only does outstanding work in the content, but helps me stay on task, run a well-organized ship, and offers to help with any tasks.” –Mr. Hoff

 

Emma Paquette

“Emma is a strong leader, a person who gets things done and never complains about any role on or off stage she has had. She puts as much energy into a supporting or bit role as she does in a lead; with no complaints. A true leader-by-example and a continually growing fine theatre artist.” –Mr. Paul Johnson

 

Mara Schmitz

“Mara is extremely organized and focused. She is curious and as a result asks great questions.” –Ms. Childs

 

Lauren O’Neil

Lauren puts so much energy into events in the school. She clearly has such a great time being involved and showing school spirit, whether it's Freshman Orientation, Homecoming, or supporting her fellow classmates.” –Ms. Fedora

 

Hamdiyo Ali

“Hamdi has been working extra hard to fit German, AVID, and a college course into her schedule. Her hard work and positive attitude sets a great example for her classmates and is greatly appreciated.” –Ms. Bilbro

 

Mikayla Wetzel

She comes into school during her 1st Hour study hall almost every day to work on Calculus to get better!” –Mr. Stocker

 

McKenzie Maas

“McKenzie is in two of my classes and is also a TA with my Basic Foods class. She is always willing to help with different tasks and to help with students that are needing some extra help. Last week she even went and helped Mrs. Steffan when she had to move her class to a different classroom. Thank you McKenzie for all your hard work so far this school year!” –Mrs. Wiens

 

Alex Kirkpatrick

“Alex comes to class every day with a positive attitude and is always looking for ways to get better! Alex pays great attention to his technique, and has made huge improvements over the past few weeks. I enjoy his enthusiasm and work ethic in class. Keep going!” –Mr. Frank

 

Quintin Gutzmann

“He puts a lot of reflection and thought into his answers. He is willing to take the time and effort needed to reach his full potential as a student. To top it off, he is intrinsically motivated to do this.” –Mr. Roble
