Pending school board approval, Faribault High School is proud to announce that Eric Hildebrandt has been selected as the next head boys basketball coach. Hildebrandt will replace Fred Miller, who resigned after the 2017-2018 basketball season.

Hildebrandt, a 2007 graduate of Faribault High School, returns to the FHS sideline after serving as head boys basketball coach at Bethlehem Academy from 2016-2018. Hildebrandt compiled a 31-24 record in two seasons with the Cardinals. Hildebrandt served as an assistant coach at Faribault High School from 2013-2016.

“I look forward to and am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the Faribault Public Schools through the game of basketball,” Hildebrandt said on Monday.

Activities Director Keith Badger said Hildebrandt demonstrated his ability to lead the basketball program through the interview process. “Eric possesses the skills, experience, and commitment to lead our basketball program in a positive direction. His emphasis on building relationships with all stakeholders will help our program grow,”

Hildebrandt graduated from Bethel University in 2012 with a Bachelors in Social Studies. He completed his Masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2017. Coach Hildebrandt teaches social studies at Faribault High School.
